Introduction

The Department of Biochemistry imparts the knowledge of various biochemical reactions of different metabolic pathways in normal & pathological conditions at molecular level. In addition to teaching program the Department has a pivotal role in diagnosis of the disease. The Departmental laboratories, are equipped with latest fully automated, semi-automated instruments where almost all types of investigations are available. Immulite-1000 which is automatic chemiluminiscent system is fully operational and used for specialized tests like hormonal assays, cancer markers, diabetes profile, cardiac markers, anaemia profile, inflammation markers and drug assays.

The Department is housed in the ground floor of Dr. B. C. Roy Para-Medical Block of the College and has excellent faculty rooms, student practical laboratories, demonstration room, Departmental library, and “Central Research laboratory” of the Institute. The Department is currently Headed by Dr. R. S. Yadav.

Vision

The Department is committed to provide excellent education in the field of Biochemistry for medical (UG & PG) and paramedical students. The Department is aimed at providing reliable laboratory results satisfying the needs and expectations of patients as well as doctors.
