DMC CUM DOTS CENTRE AT Dr.RPGMC TANDA

 

As per permission granted by Central Tuberculosis Division (CTD), DMC Cum DOTS Centre was started at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College Kangra at Tanda (Then Rai Bahadur Jodhamal TB Sanitorium). This centre was catering tuberculosis services other then the local population of Himachal Pradesh, to adjoining state of Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.

Staff of Rai Bahadur Jodhamal TB Sanitorium was looking after the activities of RNTCP of this centre till 2006. In 2006 DMC cum DOTS centre started functioning fully under Dr. Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College Kangra at Tanda and for this purpose staff was posted from RNTCP side. Currently this centre is managed by staff strength of Medical Officer-02, SA-1,TB  Health visitor -1, LT-2, DRTB Counsellor-1. On 2011, Programmatic Management of TB (PMDT) was started in this centre. For This purpose, centre was attached to six district of Himachal Pradesh. These district were Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur, Mandi, Una and Kullu. Presently this centre is working as DMC Cum DOTS centre and Nodal DRTB centre and name of program is changed from RNTCP to NTEP.
