The Department of Neurology was started on 5TH July 2012 and is slowly growing to be an important part of the institute. The Department comprises Faculty and Residents trained in the best institutes of India who work diligently in helping the patients with the latest and best protocols. It is now offering thrice a week OPD, i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30 am to 4.00pm and more than 20000(twenty thousand) patients were attended in the year 2021, 25693 patients in the year 2022 and 32028 patients in the year 2023.
The Department is offering a multitude of investigations like EEG, Nerve conduction studies (NCS), Electromyography (EMG), VEP to diagnose various neurological ailments. The Department has an Indoor ward for detailed evaluation and work up of patients and provides consultations to the patients admitted with neurological diseases or co-morbidities in various specialties.
The Department of Neurology at DRPGMC Tanda is the first in Neurology to start a super speciality course not only in Himachal Pradesh but also in all of north Indian states. This department has also the distinction to start the first ever super speciality course in DRPGMC Tanda.

We are also connected with various other Hospitals (Zonal/District/Civil) of the state and provide consultations and CME (continuous medical education) to the treating physicians regarding management of Acute Brain Attack.
The Department is also involved in teaching the MBBS and Post graduate students of the institute. We are regularly conducting theory and clinical classes of the students to teach them the nuances of clinical Neurology. The faculty is also associated with various research works in collaboration with other Departments of the institute.
